Polish board game about Vikings collected 160 thousand PLN in 24 hours of the campaign

Great success of the authors of the board game "Valhalla" and the zagramw.to platform! The Polish game about Vikings collected over 160 thousand zlotys during 24 hours of crowdfunding campaign.

On January 18 the campaign for the board game Valhalla had its premiere and so did the zagramw.to platform on which the project is carried out. The game broke the record of Polish board games crowdfunding and collected over 160 thousand zlotys in the first 24 hours. At this moment, the amount of support amounts to 238 thousand zlotys. There are still 23 days left until the end of the collection, which makes us assume that it will be one of the most spectacular campaigns in the history of Polish crowdfunding.

Valhalla is the result of over 3 years of work by Łukasz Woźniak, a well-known board vlogger. It's a battle card and dice game that transports players into the atmospheric world of the Vikings fighting for glory and a place in the mythical Valhalla.

"We expected that we could achieve success, but the fact that we reached the set goal in 38 minutes, and 3 hours after the start the counter showed 100 thousand PLN, exceeded our wildest expectations. With such a large amount of support we will be able to significantly enrich the content of the game with add-ons expanding the mechanics and gadgets to facilitate gameplay." - said the author of the game.

Behind the campaign is a company co-founded by Łukasz Woźniak, Go on Board. The company is a publisher of board games and the owner of the debut website zagramw.to.

"After deciding to choose crowdfunding as the model in which Valhalla will be released, we came to the conclusion that none of the existing solutions on the Polish market fully meets the needs of the board games industry. We decided to take on the challenge of building a dedicated platform ourselves and that's how zagramw.to came to be. We involved board games fans in the process of creating the portal in order to adjust it to their preferences as much as possible". - says Łukasz Woźniak.

Already after the first day of the campaign the new platform became an object of interest of other publishers of board games, who see in it a chance to raise funds for the release of their own titles.

About the game Valhalla and its author

In Valhalla, players take on the role of experienced Vikings leading their warriors into battle. The Vikings, descendants of Odin himself, are taught never to retreat, never to surrender. Winning without a fight is unacceptable for them, and dying on the battlefield is the greatest honor. So they fight for glory, for blood, for victory.

The player is drawn into this battle both by the highly detailed illustrations, which perfectly build up the atmosphere of the game, as well as by the well-developed mechanics. It is the result of over 3 years of work by Łukasz Woźniak, who has already published 11 games and has vast experience in the board game industry.

Board games on the offensive

The success of the campaign is undoubtedly part of the growing interest in board games in Poland. Year after year, the number of Poles playing board games is growing. Currently, this market in Poland is worth approx. PLN 300 million and every year it grows by about 15%. About 400 games are published annually in our country and we are the third largest market in Europe, after Germany and France. Nowadays we spend more and more time surrounded by new technologies and we are under constant pressure to be online. It is not surprising that among many people there is a growing desire to find a retreat and seek face-to-face contact with others.
